Retreating Charlemagne

like Charlemagne planning
his strategies of attack and
maintaining a solid defence of
his already conquered soil
and trying to work out what

using the art of persuasion
seduction manipulation to
gain more ground in every
I carefully yet clumsily
foolishly hopelessly plan my
strategies of conquering your
but fear I’m stumbling into
a trap cos maybe you know
you’ve already conquered mine,
it’s already in your hands,
it beats intensely with your
elusive touch,
it craves you and
cries for you
even though you hurt it
without knowing.
