Oh What A Wonderful Day

jobcentre
Oh what a wonderful day.
Looking for work,
strolling in rain,
no cash for the bus,
no cash for the train,
through vacuous hours
I try to be sane.

Oh what a wonderful day.
With nowhere to go
and nothing to do,
I go through my emails
and look for replies
from jobs that I feel
I had needn’t applied.

Oh what a wonderful day.
When I’ve spent all my pennies
on six packs of death,
already drank four,
there’s only two left,
in this wonderful day
where the darkness has crept,

no sun in the sky
just an overcast grey,
no friends on my radar
they’re all far away,
I reside on my own
and I hear myself say
Oh what a wonderful day.
